It’s 1 year since Daesh was defeated as military force. There is a lot more to do in combating the ideology of IS. 11,000 people died, 30,000 wounded fighting for a society, where people live together in respect and able to defend each other.
In the face of the ongoing conflict here in NE Syria, the looming threats and the social changes that are developing, we face incredibly challenging questions. We must take a stand in this reality, which we aim to change. We must walk this path as revolutionaries, guided by our principles, ideas, dreams and collective spirit. 2 years ago Lêgerîn Çiya, a doctor from Argentina who came to Kurdistan to fight for freedom, fell Şehîd. She joined the ranks of YPJ fighting against Daesh before becoming a copresident of the health committee of NE Syria. Her struggle and her sacrifice contributed to building a bridge between the struggles of the Middle East and South America. She is an example for internationalist women from all around the world who fight against patriarchy and colonialism for a better future.
